Fair Skin - naturally more sensitive and dry than other types and quicker to to show signs of aging. However, you can generally be more aggressive with treatments, as you don't have to worry as much about discoloration or hyperpigmentation that sometimes results from anti-aging product use.

Antioxidants and Sun Protection - because your skin is naturally dryer, as you age, free radical damage from the sun can cause skin to lose its youthfulness. Opt for products with antioxidants such as Vitamin C, and always wear a moisturizer and SPF.

Hydration - dry and dehydrated skin causes skin to look more dull and wrinkles become more prominent. Look for Hyaluronic Acid in skincare products, as it helps draw and retain moisture in your skin cells.

Retin A a double edged sword - many of our clients concerned about wrinkles are prescribed Retin-A by dermatologists. Although it sometimes works for revealing newer, younger looking skin, it can sometimes make skin look dryer and irritated.

Genetics

Given that you have a history of acne in your family, there is a strong probability your blemishes have a genetic link. Take a look at what their skin responds to, and chances are your skin will respond as well. Although there is nothing you can do about genetics, a good skincare routine, and consistent facials can keep most blemishes at bay.

Environment

Your living environment may be a cause of your acne. Pollutants, and the higher stress levels associated with your living environment can result in clogged pores and higher levels of inflammation. Although you may not be able to control the external, you can still be diligent about protecting your skin from the elements with a lightweight moisturizer.
